I love this product and had been forced to hang onto an old laptop to use it. It died last week in the middle of a complex design project... so I went looking for how to run it on my iMac.

I found a product called Crossover 12 by Codeweavers that claims to do just that. It has been out for some time but only claims to run "most commonly used Windows apps" reliably such as MS Office, Quickbooks, etc .

They do not "support" PCStitch (Support provides a "Tie In" to automatically install the programs and provides some assurance that it will run or support calls will help resolve a problem. They do list PC Stitch but it is listed as UNTESTED.

Has anyone tried this product to run PCS 10 on a Mac?

Mark, do you have any suggestions about using this or other Windows emulators such as Parallels or Bootcamp and Windows 8 to run PC Stitch 10?
Thanks all, Alison

I tried this before with CrossOver 11. See here. The short answer is PC Stitch doesn't yet work under CrossOver.

I've signed up with CodeWeavers to test support of PC Stitch in Crossover and I'm currently testing with the release candidate for CrossOver 13. So far it's not looking too good. I've made less progress than I did the first time around.

I tried downloading and installing both the Windows 7 & XP versions because CRossover 12 seems only to see an XP version to load. IT did not work. In the end, both installs do the same thing. Crossover installs as above and then gives the same error message. So like the person who tried this last year, I have given up.

I find it difficult to believe that the owners of this program are wiling to forego all customers who prefer using MACs for their superior graphics capabilities and the best rated current INTEL based hardware platform. I am not happy about being forced to buy and maintain a PC just to run this program.

Alison,

I am only a volunteer who happens to have been using PCStitch for 9 years.

Mark is the one who would have to look into it. However, since it's not supported under Mac, I'm not sure there's much he can do. You can send him an email asking but I make no guarantees.

Since there have no replies, I tried it. (FYI, as note above not clear: Crossover 12 allows you to run WITHOUT WINDOWS loaded... so no need to partition or buy Windows, etc.)

So I downloaded and installed Crossover 12 - easy.
Then requires and loads Microsoft .Net Framework 2.0 SP2
Then downloaded PCS 10 - WILL NOT install. Almost completes and get this message-
ERROR message #: 0x8000FFFF
Description:
Setup will now terminate.

Mark, Diane, any idea why this would do this. Is there an easy fix? Anyone?
Alison
