I have a pattern that I designed to work on 14ct aida, but now I have a friend who wants me to stitch it on linen so she can make it into a pillow. How do I change the settings so I can rework the pattern for this? I know I have to change the size, but want to see on the screen how it will look in the weave we bought so I can adjust accordingly. Thanks for your help!

I had the same question the first time I used the program for an "over two" design. The answer is, if you are going to stitch over two, you don't need to make any changes at all--just use the pattern as is.

If you want to put some petite cross-stitch into the pattern (an area where you are only stitching over one, in an item that's otherwise over two), there is an option in your stitch selector. It's the small x. It will show up in your pattern as a complete x in whichever corner you've put it; you can put up to 4 in a single square of the pattern. As I recall, you'll get a separate page in your printout that shows this section in a larger size.

If you want to change the size of the design itself, so that, say, instead of being 8x10 it will be 10x10, then you need to add columns or rows. In the main menu bar, select Tools, then Pattern Sizing, then Add Rows or Add Columns. Do be careful in telling the program how many rows or columns to add, and where to put them. Remember that you can always Undo a change.

If you are adding to each side of a design, and want to keep the original design centered, you will need to add half of your additional columns on each side. Use Column 1 for the left half, and the last column number for the right half.

Hope this helps!
