I tried to open a pattern I have on my computer. It said something about a PDF converter or something. Could anyone help?

PCStitch files are not the same as PDF files. You cannot open a PDF file in PCStitch. If you have a virtual printer such as PrimoPDF, you can create a PDF of your PCStitch pattern by "printing" to it but thee are no utilities of which I am aware that will convert a PDF to PCStitch.
