How do you create backstitches in photos?

Backstitches have to be added AFTER you import the image into a pattern. This is true for all stitches other than full cross-stitches. The import only understands full cross stitch. Backstitches, fractionals, specialty stitches -- all must be part of the "tweaking" process.
