Features: Importing
One of the most powerful features of PCStitch is the ability to convert a graphic image
into a pattern. You provide the image and PCStitch will do the rest! Our
software will automatically size the output image to your requirements and then
automatically map the colors in the image to the floss colors available. You can
determine how large the pattern is, how many colors to use, and even what type of floss to use!
Our import wizard takes you step-by-step through the process. Here is a quick example…
|
Selecting the image:
The image can come from an existing graphic file, such as a TIF or
BMP. You can also acquire the image from your scanner or digital camera.
|
|
Cropping and Erasing:
The next few steps of the import wizard allow you, if you wish, to
select just a portion of the image for your pattern. You can also
select an area of the image to erase which will keep if from being converted into stitches.
|
|
Pick your project size:
How big do you want your final pattern to be? The import wizard lets
you choose by stitches, or by measurements. PCStitch will automatically
re-size the image to make the pattern size you desire.
|
|
Select the type of floss to use:
Finally, choose what type of floss you want to use, and how many different
colors you want in your pattern. PCStitch automatically maps the colors in the
image to the floss and shows you a preview of your pattern.

That's it!
PCStitch makes creating special, one-of-a-kind cross-stitch projects from your photos or other graphic
images as simple as A - B - C.
