When I upgrade, do I need a previous version of PCStitch installed to upgrade to version 11?

No:
PCStitch 11 is a separate program from all previous versions. It installs into its own directory, so you can have other versions installed, but you do not need a previous version to upgrade.
If you want to evaluate it, or if you have already purchased the software upgrade, all you need to do is download it from our website, install it, and go! To begin the download procedure, select PCStitch from the download menu at the top of this page. Follow the instructions on the screen to complete the download and installation.
