Wow - I don't know if anyone else has this problem, but I am wondering if PCStitchPro is a 'resource hog'...? It sure seems like it. I'll be building my lastest pattern (I sell them on Etsy and my Web site), and all of a sudden, the stitches don't show up. Or I try to do some erasing - nothing moves - as in, the stitches don't go away. Or I'm working with the text tool, and all of a sudden when I click outside the text box - vavoom - blank canvas. the ONLY way I van get it to go 'back to normal', is to totally reboot.
What gives? Now mind you, I have a super computer running Vista. Scads of memory and a TB(terra byte) of hard drive space. It's also a Quad Core processor. This isn't enough to run this program?
Wallowing in frustration here. Perhaps Ms moderator could check with her code monkey and see what's up with that...?
Ok. I'm done with my rant now...
In the meantime - back at it! Here's to keeping you up all night with your favorite project... |

I'm running Vista and have not seen the problems you describe since the early beta tests of Pro 8. You should have seen the early problems with the "Paint" tool! It too minutes to work a small painted area and if you didn't have your area closed, you were in REAL trouble! 
There haven't been changes to Pro since the upgrade of the Standard from 7 to 9. I suggest you first check to make sure you are running the latest version.
Then I would do a complete anti-virus check of your hard drive. A virus may have slipped in, even if you have a good virus checker and fire-wall running.
The next thing I would do is check your startup programs. You can do that from Windows Defender > Tools > Software Explorer. Make sure you don't have a lot of stuff starting at boot time that you don't need. Adobe is famous for that. You can just disable those that you don't need. They'll still start on demand, just not automatically at boot time.
I don't want to guess what the next step might be but this is a start - especially if this is a sudden change.

Hi - thanks for the response. I have very little in my start up. I have no viruses. Can't imagine what the problem might be. I also notice it gives me an error when I try to erase too many stitches. The display is not true. I'll go to change a color, and it doesn't show as being changed. Kinda frustrating! I have to get totally out of the program, then get back in. Works ok for a while, then it's back at it.
Would it help if I totally uninstalled the program and reinstalled? I'd have to have my reg key reset. |

You may not have to have your key reset. However, I would first try a re-install over your existing install first and if that doesn't help, an uninstall followed by a re-install.
