Running 9.00.012 on Vista 32.
Three of the DMC stranded cotton palette entries are misspelled:
309 rose - vy dp
326 rose - dp
972 canary - dp
Each 'dp' should be 'dk'.
I'm sorry if I'm perceived as nit-picking, but I spent my career developing and testing software and computer hardware. It's in my DNA, now, to report issues on the programs I'm using. I'm quite pleased with the capabilities of PCS Pro and am only trying to help make the program even better.

Well, dp could be interpreted as "deep" rather than dk or "dark". In any case, it's "unofficial" information for DMC colors. DMC does not have official names for the colors, just numbers. The names have been given by others and may vary from place to place.
Remember that for DMC (at least), ONLY the number is of importance in color matching.

I've noticed that some colors have the same name, for example:
315 and 3726: antique mauve - dk
992 and 943: aquamarine - md
162 and 828: blue - ul vy lt
3813 and 504: blue green - lt
I know that it's only the numbers that matter, but I do admit consistency of names and spellings would be nice and it can get confusing, especially when the same names are printed on a chart.

I went to the source (http://www.dmc-usa.com/mjRS/1/doc/US_colordesc/colordesc_embfloss.pdf), and here's what I found:
309 DK Rose
326 V DK Rose
972 Deep Canary
315 MD DK Antique MauVe
3726 DK Antique Mauve
992 LT Aquamarine
943 MD Aquamarine
162 Ultra V LT Blue
828 Ultra V V LT Blue
3813 LT Blue Green
504 V LT Blue Green
So the 'dp' for 972 canary is, in fact, an abbreviation for 'deep'. Note that DMC has unique names for each of the colors that Amber mentioned and that the intensity of 309 and 326 are reversed between DMC and PCS Pro.

A quote from the very bottom of that document (I have added the colors for emphasis):quote:
Please note that DMC refers to its colors by number only.
Any color names given to our colors are done so by the individual
designer of a publication or chart. The color names on this list may
aid you in choosing the correct DMC colors and have been assigned
to DMC Six Strand Embroidery Floss and Pearl Cotton colors by
consensus. This list may aid you in choosing the correct DMC colors.
However, the names assigned to these colors on your chart may
differ from this listing so it would be best for you to make the final
decision.
Note - the color names are NOT official. They may be consistent and unique but not official. That means that any differences from this document is not necessarily "wrong".

I'll concede on the dk vs dp, but how about the duplicate color names that Amber discovered?

That's not an error as far as DMC is concerned but I admit,it is an error here. We should expect unique names within a product. I suggest you email a complete list of the duplicates to Mark so they can be fixed in future updates.

The e-mail has been sent. It turns out that are 4 other duplicate names in addition to the 4 that Amber discovered:
608/947 burnt orange
3716/151 dusty rose – vy lt
550/327 violet – vy dk
517/3842 wedgewood - dk
