Pro 9 has a lot of new features including the ability to read INSIDE zips directly (as read-only files), more export features and the ability to save the floss usage chart as a .csv file for use in a spreadsheet.

Because it's a major upgrade, it is not a free upgrade unless you licensed Pro earlier this month.

All who purchased Pro 8 during October '08 will get an unlock code for Pro 9 without cost. For all others, it's a $19.95 charge. I understand emails are being prepared as an "official" announcement of the new product.

I'll tell you, though - it's really neat! The support files (like borders, libraries, floss lists, ...) are saved in a different place which makes it work much more smoothly with Vista.

From what I have glanced Pro 9 it will be worth the upgrade (I have the "locked" version installed and waiting) even I haven't played with it too much yet - it will be nicer to play with it when I get it unlocked.

It received an update today. The "What's new" link isn't working right yet but it will be.
