I have just changed from PCStich 7.2 to Pro. I have some patterns of my own design in my library patterns that I have been using to make some squares (I use a different color combination on each one) for making either pillows or a quilt. I haven't decide yet.

I am having a problem with the Pro version. I cannot change the colors when I import from the my library files. On version 7.2 and earlier versions I've just used paint to change color "c" to color "x" in each block.

I do notice that if there is a square that have no color I can add colors there.

I am at a loss as to how to correct this problem besides editing my library pieces before using them in a pattern.

Any help would be appreciated.

Julia,

In Pro, pieces imported from library are saved as a "objects" and cannot be changed directly. What you need to do after you bring in a library motif object is to right click on it and select "merge into background". Then you can change the colors and so forth.

Thanks, I searched every possible topic in help but couldn't find what I was doing wrong. I knew that some of the library pieces that come with the program could not be changed but I seldom use them. I am still playing with Pro. I have used PC Stitch for since something like version 4 or 5 and like all programs new version sometime take time to adjust to. Thanks again. Julia
