Hello,
I'm new to the forums here and I really need some help!!! I use a lot of hardanger stitches when I create my designs, and have created a lot of custom specialty stitches. I just did an update and all of my custom stitches were deleted ! Is there any way to get them back? If not, how do I stop this from happening again the next time?
Thank You!! Terrie |

Terrie,
I have never heard of that. What did you update from? I'm guessing you updated to 8.03.08. I just checked what was done for this version (it came out last August). It appears that it corrected some problems with custom stitches so that may have been what happened.
They may still be there somewhere. I suggest you do a search of your drive for *.cxs which are the custom stitch files. If any of your new ones show up, you can find where they are and move them to the correct folder.
Mark may know more but that's the best I can do.

Hi Diane,
Thank you so much for your response! Let me start by saying I absolutely love PCStitch Pro!!!!!! I got it for my birthday last August from my husband! You are correct, I updated to 8.03.08. I don't understand why it didn't update when I've done my regular updates in the program, but it's ok. At least it's done it now. I found all of my stitches by doing the search you suggested! Thank you!!!!
Thank You!! Terrie |

Hi Diane,
When I did the search yesterday, I saved the search so I could transfer them into the right folder. I didn't transfer them yesterday because I was to busy. When I opened the program today, my custom stitches are now there. I didn't have to do anything. I did, however, create a couple again yesterday so I could use them at that moment (I was going to delete them today). Now I have duplicate stitches. I went to the search again, but now there are duplicates of ALL the stitches in the program folder, even the stitches that were pre-programmed. I didn't do anything with the custom stitches that came with the program! One set are listed in one folder while the others are in another folder. I do not know which ones are the correct files. Should I just leave them alone?
I have tried deleting the stitches with the delete stitch function in the program, but when I close the program and re-open it the stitches that I deleted are back in the list.
I'm so confused!!!!
Thanks, Terrie |

Terrie,
It's quite possible that you do have two copies. With the later versions, there is a set of some of the patterns in your "username" file on your computer and the files may also be with your "installation" When you are using the program, you should not see duplicated files. It's best to just leave it be. I think it's using the ones in your "username" folder but I can't guarantee that.
