I have this nasty problem with colour replacement option: it requires the whole design to be selected to actually change the colour X to colour Z even if I said Replace (with Z) -> Entire Pattern to it. It doesn't give any errors, but doesn't replace the colour, as it should, but adds the new colour to the palette and leaves the colour I want to be replaced be.

This seems to work ok for me. Can you give me detailed instructions on how to reproduce the problem?

As usual it doesn't want to appear now when I need to reproduce it...
I'll keep my eye on it and if it reappears I promise to keep you updated.

Don't you just hate problems that won't stay broken? It is extremely difficult to fix a problem you can't reproduce consistently.

Diane, I am quite fond of buggy bugs - at least if they are buggy enough to make everything work ok.

I think this fall under same category, I have got this error when I have tried to remove one floss colour from design (no part of the design is highlighted and I use Remove -> Entire Pattern command). It works as a charm if I have the area is selected and I give the same command.
Best part? This is not consistent issue, but it appears when it wishes to.

New error, what fun.
I tried to replace 321 with 498 and this is the message I got: click
This has happened couple of times before actually, always when trying trying to change colour A to colour B.

Could your problem have something to do with your personal machine and configuration? I did a color change {815 replaced 310} last night and had absolutely no problem.
I do get errors occasionally when I start a new project and remove the default color. If I switch to the symbol palette at that point, I get an out of range error. I expect that, there isn't any thing in the list to even have a symbol.
Just wondering out loud since I did the exact same thing last night.

My system configuration hasn't changed (no new Windows batches either) and I am sure I had colours there (as you can see from the image) .
(Though I have done same as you did, but those are PEBKAC errors. )

I'm not sure if I fixed this bug or not, since I can't reproduce it, but I found an area in the program that I think might be causing it and I fixed it.
I will post an update in a few days that hopefully will prevent this error from coming back.
