Hello,
I'm creating a sampler pattern, and I'm having trouble figuring out exactly how to proceed. I want it to be on 32-count fabric over 2 threads, but how do I make the chart reflect that? It's ok for me, but if I want to print it for someone or put it on the internet I will need to indicate that. Any tips?

You can just enter whatever number you want. You may have fun getting it to zoom enough to see the individual stitches but you can do it.  I tested it by entering 40 and it accepted it!

I stitch on much higher counts that what the maximum is in the pull down selection in the software. Any ideas if there could be in the future updates on designing with some higher counts? 24 being the highest and I know loads of stitchers that use 25, 28, 32 and even 40 count stitching 1x1 (one thread over one stitch). |

You are correct. I was referring to something totally different.
What I meant was the size listed in the properties on any pattern (not necessarily an import conversion to stitching) does not mean you HAVE to stitch in that size fabric. If you want or are willing for your design to be larger or smaller than the size listed in the pattern because of a different count, then do it.
If you understand that a design that lists 18 count will be a certain size and wish to use 14 count, then you must accept the fact that the same stitch count will result in a larger overall pattern.
That's all I meant. The given stitch count does affect the size of the visible stitches during design and that struck me as a little strange because there is no need for that. The estimates for the amount of each color floss is dependent upon the given fabric count and strand count. However, you have "artistic license" to stitch using whatever colors and fabric sizes you want - for ANY pattern.

Diane, Don't quite understand your comment about "showing the size of the grid..."
If you are designing a chart from an import and you should have as close to 1 pixel per stitch then using the maximum 24 count cloth would give a more detail in the design. If you design using 16 count - then the design will have less detail. Wouldn't matter what you fabric or count you actually stitch but it would matter in the designing of the chart I think.

Simply say 16 count and in your pattern definition, specify 32 count over 2. It should be clear.
Remember that the pattern count you give is just used to show the size of the grid while designing and making the estimate of floss usage. Any design can be stitched with any count fabric the stitcher wants.
