I just received my new PC Stitch pro 2 weeks ago. I would like to know why whenever I make a pattern and then create it in pdf...the color chart has 2 or 3 rows of grey squares across the top and down the left side of the chart pages...instead of the proper colors in those squares.
I have tried uninstalling Pro and reinstalling it...and uninstalling the pdf program and reinstalling. Neither solves the problem.
Does anyone know what it causing this? |

Just in case you haven't answered your own question (and to help others who may have the same question) - you need some additional software (many free versions available) for a "virtual printer". I use PrimoPDF and just "print" to the PDF format. It works like a charm!

Emerald - you mentioned "creating a pattern in pdf". I've been trying to find out in Pro 9 just how to do that. The help feature isn't very good IMO. How do you create a PC Stitch pattern in pdf?

I've been using Pro since beta testing for the first pro (8). I was using Standard (7) for some time before that. That puts my experience for PCStitch total at over 4 years (I think I got started with 7 in 2004).
There's something about this software that seems to fit the way I think and work. For me, it's very intuitive and easy to use.
One key for anybody trying any new software. Don't be afraid to click! With printed user's guides so rare, sometimes the only way to learn something is to try it. Especially, when you are just trying to learn, the worst thing that will happen is the program will close.
Try it - it's fun!

I JUST got through discovering that! LOL That is eggs-actly what the problem was.
Hey! It makes me feel good that I figured it out on my own. Maybe I ain't so dumb afterall. I guess I shoulda played around with it a little more before I panicked. LOL

Could it be that you are expecting multiple pages? There is an "overlap" setting for PCStitch that can have the grayed area for multiple pages. Try turning off the overlap and see what happens.
