Hello,

Can anyone tell me what exactly these .bpt files are that occur when I create or save a pattern? I tried deleting them and making them hidden files, but when I did I could no longer access the pattern. Just wondering that's all. I looked it up on the internet but couldn't find any information about it.

Thank You,
Terrie

The .bpt files are backup files. When you save a file, the "old" version is renamed to .bpt and the new version is created.

You can right click on a .bpt and open it with PCStitch. In fact, I remember one freebie pattern (I don't remember when) from PatternsOnline that was in this format.

You can just leave them alone. They do have a use. When you have completed the pattern (no more changes anticipated), you can just delete the .bpt version of it.
