Admittedly this is not the first time I get this error, but now it was so consistent that I got annoyed.

I tried to replace a colour for selected area (the area was selected) and got this error every time. Fortunately the colour in the selected area was all that colour there were on the grid so I got the colour changed with the Entire pattern command.
