I've been helping "MaxPaul" with his cross stitch program conversion program and I noticed several things in the process.

First - there does not seem to be any way to specify the number of strands to use for French knots. You can set full, half, quarter, three-quarter, petite and backstitches but not French knots. Also, you can't specify the number of strands of floss needed to attach beads or how they are attached.

Second, the mapping of backstitch styles from Pro to Standard does not match and is not consistent. If you set the DEFAULT style for a color to other than a solid line, it will map as a solid line. If however, you manually change or set a line to a given style it will convert but not necessarily to the same style!

I did a test case where one color was set to default of dotted line. Two lines were manually set to dashed lines. When converted to Standard, the dotted lines were solid and the dashed line was "tracks". The mapping is off!

There are two bugs here - the default line style should carry and any styles should convert to the same style.

The first item (French Knot strands) may not be a bug but it is definitely something missing! The second issue of backstitch styles is a bug.

If I notice anything else funny, I'll post here.

Diane
There is no such thing as a stupid question
