Downloads don't always work as expected for some sites in some browsers. I know that .pat files sometimes download as .com in cyberstitchers using Firefox, for example. Some pdf files on the EMS Cross Stitch Board download funny using IE. I have no idea why these things happen.

Try downloading using another browser. There are several available now. I personally have IE7, Firefox 9 and Netscape 9. All are free! I normally use Firefox.

I get the same message when trying to download a PC stitch pattern from a group website, then it tries to install a "Smart Sound Quiktracks Plugin.msi", that is "on a network resource that is unavailable". When I look for it, it shows a file type of "installation package (*.msi) that I can't locate on my computer. HELP!

Thank-you,I do have the latest version of PCStirch PRO so that is not the problem. The interesting thing is that everything was working fine up till now.I do realize now that if I save first and then open the pattern all is well,so that is what I will do from now on.
Thanks again for your help.

Well, you have done the one thing I didn't tell you in my answer to your email. At least, I think you're the same person. It would be too much of a coincidence to have two different people on the EMS board with the exact same PCStitch error at the same time!

I do not know what an error 104 is but I can think of two possible causes for problems.

One - the file is made for a version newer than what you are using.

Two - the file is zipped or another format and PCStitch does not know what to do with it.

For the first, you need a newer version of PCStitch

For the second, you need to do as I always recommend - download as SAVE and never as OPEN. Always make sure your file in on your pc where you want it to be BEFORE you try to open it.
