I am still having a problem updating my Pro. I just did the update from May 16 (I was busy helping another board upgrade so I got a bit behind on checking). I tried the direct route (click on update within Pro), as well as downloading the file from Firefox and from MIE 7. All were very slow.

I'm on broadband and it took about 15 minutes when I finally let it go to completion. It never got above 15 Kb/sec.

Does anybody have any idea why I have this trouble from this site? I downloaded 17 Mb the other day from Kaser.com and it took just a few seconds. This was only 6.2 Mb.

I've reported this problem before and I have never understood why some of you can do it so easily and I cannot.

Can anybody explain this problem? I end up doing as Kaser says to do while installing his games: "Twiddle your thumbs".

HELP!!!!

Diane

The problem is it is not all sites. Kaser's games (beta testing) download in a blink. Others download in a blink in some cases and slow in other cases. They don't "guarantee" any specific speed for downloading.

I might try emailing them - phone support stinks on stuff like this. and see if they can give me some feedback.

It can't hurt! thanks!

Just an uneducated idea: have you contacted your ISP? Problem in their end sounds likely noticing that your problem persists after OS and hardware change.

In my case latest updates have been installed in about two minutes (which means that it has got faster).
