Help! I have PCStitch and have recently upgraded to PCStitchPro. One of the features that I used most often seems to be missing: changing one colour to another with the option of having the program tell you which is the closest available match. I like to make patterns from photos of family members, and it's often necessary to delete some skin-tone colours because there are so few stitches in that colour. It's essential to know which is the closest available colour, so the picture will look accurate.

Help, please! I'm still waiting for this much-needed revision!!!

I'd be so pleased if you could make it happen! I use PCStitch all the time, and have recommended it to friends, but have recommended that they find the older version, in order to have that feature.

Janet,

I'm sorry, but this one never worked its way to the top of the list. I will see if I can get it moved up the priority list.

Did this feature ever make it into program revisions? I reinstalled my old PCStitch6 and have been using that instead of the Pro upgrade, because the feature discussed in this topic is essential to me.

Mark, thank you so much for helping me out with this! I really appreciate your efforts and your receptiveness to suggestions. It's commitment like this that makes PCStitch such a great product.

It won't make the one that is coming out this week, but there is a good chance that it will make it eventually.

Thanks, Mark! Any chance this will make it into a PCStitchPro update?

I did a little research, and it looks like this was a feature of PCStitch 6 that was not implemented in version 7.

I will add it to the feature request list for consideration in a future release.

Mark -

I've misplaced my PCStitch disc, so I can't remember which version it was, but I know I've had it for a few years.

Janet,

What version of PCStitch did you have with this functionality? It does sound familiar to me, but I can't seem to find it in version 7.

Mark -

Thank you for answering. I tried reducing the number of flosses, as you suggested, but it didn't eliminate the flosses with the least stitches, as I'd expected it to, so that doesn't really help. The pattern I'm trying to do has some flosses with only one to ten stitches, and I want to get rid of them in a way that blends in with the surrounding areas. The feature that I was referring to in the old PCStitch is when you could, in a pop-up, choose a floss colour and click either Replace or Remove, and in one of those, it asked you to choose the replacement colour, and in the other, it would suggest a colour, the closest matching colour, and you could accept or reject that choice. It's the latter that I need to do.

Janet,

We still have the feature to reduce the number of palette entries by right clicking the palette and chosing Reduce Entries. Is that what you are looking for?
